Ranbir-Farhan in place of Ajay-Saif in Aparna Sen’s ‘Gulel’

Ranbir Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar will be teaming up for their next venture. Both the actors have been roped in for Aparna Sen’s Hindi directorial debut- Gulel.

The film was to go on floors earlier with Ajay Devgan and Saif Ali Khan. Both the actors backed out of the project, and Ranbir and Farhan have been taken on board in place.

After Ranbir was confirmed for ‘Gulel’, Aparna was of the perception that she needed a more jolie actor to take Saif’s place and she chose thought of Farhan. Farhan was initially not keen on doing the film but finally arpana was able to convince her.

Salman kept away from Asin-Ajay Devgan

While shooting for London Dreams, Salman Khan stayed at the Governor House, a very up market hotel in Central London.The rest of the cast and crew including Asin, Ajay Devgan and director Vipul Shah were staying at St James Court. So at the end of the day, while Asin and Ajay Devgan were spening good time chilling and chatting together Salman Khan would be all by himself.

So Salman Khan started complaining to Vipul Shah about being lonely and wanted to shift with the rest of the gang in St James Court. Vipul Shah was only happy to oblige and so Salman to shifted at St James Court.

Finally it was a happy reunion in true-blue Bollywood style.

London Dreams to see Eiffel Tower in Blue

Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan's London Dreams will feature a sequence showing the world famous Eiffel tower in blue. Vipul Shah took special permissions to shoot at the famous tourist site. London Dreams also stars Asin. It is the story of rival musicians. The movie has music by AR Rahman.

The blue Eiffel tower marks the start of France's six-month presidency in the European Union. Lighting up the Eiffel Tower in blue with yellow stars symbolizes the EU flag. The tower's standard night time lighting since New Year's Eve in 1985 has been orange-gold but for the first time it turned blue with yellow stars.

Thursday, Sept 18, saw a breaking news in London's Observer series newspapers that our very own Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan has planned a never before idea to interact with his U.K fans. U.K's second largest newspaper company Trinity Mirror's Bollywood Columnist of the Harrow Observer newspaper Devansh Patel covered Ajay's two big releases Golmaal Returns and London Dreams.

Ajay Devgan will be in London for 45 days along with Vipul and Salman for the principal shoot of London Dreams. The actor turned director came up with this unique idea to interact with his fans in the U.K by sending personal replies to each and every fan of his who emails him on his U.K. email ID which is ajaydevganuk@gmail.com . Away from the hustle bustle of Mumbai city, Ajay will have quite some time to know his fans one on one. He wanted to do something different than just blogging. Kajol Dreams of 3 more Babies

The lady likes her privacy and prefers to talk to the media mostly when her films are about to release. And her father’s death recently has made her quieter still. Recently, she was in the city to endorse a brand but kept her appearance to a short 30-minutes pose-appear-and-disappear routine.

Asked what she has been doing of late, she said, “Ajay is busy shooting and my daughter Nysa keeps me busy.”

Kajol, who has said in the past that “she was born to be a mother,” perks up immediately at the mention of her daughter. “Everybody I work with knows that my kid comes first. In fact she occupies the one to 10 slots,” she said. And does she plan to become a mother again? “Oh definitely,” she says, “I want to have at least three more kids.”

The actress who has done only selective work since she became a mother may completely go off the screen then! But what is she working on just now? “It’s a film that I will do with my husband. It’s actually an animation film with human characters called Toonpur Ka Superhero, something like Who Framed Roger Rabbit? We’re actually playing ourselves, yes, we’ll be Ajay and Kajol. But the cartoon characters get the main roles. It will be healthy competition.”

Ajay on House Arrest

Ajay Devgan is a doting father. To make up for his long absence from home, he gave in to his daughter Nysa's demand to spend time with her. He cancelled all his engagements and stayed home for a month and devoted his time completely to Nysa.

“I had no choice,” confides Ajay. “It was my daughter Nysa's command. She's the only woman in my life who can make me dance around her little finger. Now that she's all of five, her demands are far more vocal,” he says.

It all began when Nysa missed Ajay's presence in the house for a long time. Says Ajay, “First, I was shooting non-stop for U Me Aur Hum. Soon after that I had to leave for Goa for filming Golmaal Returns. This long schedule of work didn't go down well with my daughter.” So last month, Nysa forced Ajay to cancel all his engagements and spend more time with her.

Ask Ajay how he coped with being under house arrest for a month and he reacts, “I actually enjoy her bullying me. I absolutely loved the time I spent with her.” Though this was the first time that Ajay spent a chunk of time with his daughter, he loved it so much that now he wants to make it a ritual.

As Ajay has now resumed work and Kajol has signed Karan Johar's film which has to be shot in the US, it is likely to leave Nysa alone. “No, Kajol's film schedule will not pose a problem. I am already planning to spend as much time as I can with Nysa. But otherwise, my parents do a very good job of taking care of her. In fact, Nysa looks up to her grandparents as her own parents. So leaving her at home is definitely not an issue.”

Talk about Kajol getting back to work and Ajay becomes an epitome of a liberal husband. He says, “Kajol is an extremely talented actor and everyone looks forward to her films. And that's the reason it gives me great joy to see her working again. Besides that, she has every right to do what she desires.”

Since Ajay is so smitten by Kajol as an actress, is he planning to cast her in all his films? “Definitely not!” he replies. “Why should she be in all our productions? In fact even I don't intend to star in all the films I direct. Casting would depend entirely on the character to be portrayed. If I feel some other actor suits best in my next directorial venture, then I will go ahead and sign him without blinking an eyelid,” he says.

According to Ajay, reports of him planning to cast Kareena in his next film are baseless. He says, “I have read that I had approached Kareena for my film, that was news to me. I haven't even finalised my script, so how can I ask her or any other actor to be part of my next film? For now I'm happy to have Kareena as my co-star in Golmaal Returns. In fact we will be leaving for Bangkok in a couple of days to shoot the last song. The sequel has turned out much bigger than the first part.”

Ajay expects Three More Films This Year

After U ME AUR HUM, Ajay Devgan is planning three more films this year under his banner Devgan Films. One of them will be directed by Ajay Devgan himself, one by director Rohit Shetty and the third is still in its scripting stages.

Meanwhile, on the acting front, Ajay has Rohit Shetty's GOLMAAL RETURNS, Kumar Mangat's TOONPUR KA SUPERHERO, Prakash Jha's RAJNITI and Vipul Shah's LONDON DREAMS lined up as well.

Ajay Devgan honoured with JASARAT AWARD

Urdu Press Club of India has honoured star actor Ajay Devgan and historian author Amraesh Misra with its prestious JASARAT AWARD givem every five years to persons for doing courageous work in their own fields.

Last award was given to journalist Rajdeep Sardesai for covering Gujrat riots in 2003. He award this year was given on May 18th at a glittering function held at Kanpur to celebrate the 150th year of 1857, the first War of independence.


Ajay Devgan was choosen for doing social relevant films like Zakhm, Bhagat Singh, Gangajal, Apaharan and also selecting a sensitive subject like Alzheimer for his debut direction in U Me Aur Hum whereas Mr. Amaresh Misra was given the Award for his historic 2000 pages book, War of Civilisation India 1857 A D, which was released recently by the Vice President of India in New Delhi.

There is much speculation about whom Vipul Shah will cast in his next directorial venture, London Dreams. While most insist that Vipul’s favourite Akshay Kumar is going to be a part of this one, Vipul surprises us with, “No, Akshay isn’t in the film!”

To set the record straight once and for all, Shah continues, “Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan will be my protagonists. Everyday, some paper or the other gives out wrong information. Hopefully, no one will have a doubt now.”

Now that we are set on the actors, which actress is going to be cast in this one? “Again, it’s not Katrina, like it’s being speculated, we haven’t even approached her.

The decision about the female lead still has to be made,” informs Vipul. Considering that Ajay and Sallu rocked the box office and the audiences with Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, looks like Vipul is ‘dreaming’ big, already!
