Hrithik Roshan-Rakesh Roshan sweet relation turns sour

Among the current crop of Bollywood actors, Hrithik Roshan is one cool dude who has been long successful in staying away from regular controversies. But time has changed.

Hrithik who shares a wonderful relationship with director-father Rakesh Roshan is facing tough times. The father and son had a rift. It started with Hrithik’s closeness to Barbara Mori, following which Sussanne left the house.

The cracks in relationship have been now on the sets of ‘Kites’ too. Rakesh Roshan is known to be a good director but Hrithik seems to have his own take. ‘Kites’ is to be edited and Hrithik wants to have it his way. Rakesh sits on the edit; meanwhile, Hrithik is keen to have his inputs.

Hrithik and Rakesh Roshan weren’t supposedly on talking terms with each other for long, but they recently spoke after months. However, with things still taking time to regain normalcy, Hrithik and Sussanne are living in a posh five-star hotel

Hrithik Roshan to play MF Hussain

Owais Hussain – son of the great MF Hussain is all set to enter films but not as an actor as a producer. He is gearing up to produce a film on his father and has roped in Bollywood heartthrob Hrithik Roshan to play the lead role in the flick. AR Rahman has been approached to compose the film’s songs and background score.

“Hrithik has the right gravity and intensity. He also has the voice and the bearing for the part." Owais commented on Hrithik.

"The movie is a full-on musical but isn’t in the conventional biographical format. The film will shed light on some of the lesser known aspects of my father’s life and bring out the more humane aspect of his personality," said Owais while talking about the film.

The project has been through a long planning process and is now all set to hit the floors.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali-Hrithik Roshan-Kites

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is one director who values discipline. But all his firmness melted when Hrithik Roshan tried his charm on the ‘Black’ director.

Sanjay is all set to kick start his untitled film in the second week of Aprilan it will star Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles. But Hrithik is too busy with his home production-Kites and was not so keen to start off a new venture before its release which means that sanjay would have to wait till diwali this year which would delay Sanjay’s movie enormously which is something that he might have not accepted.

But Hrithik’s magical charm did the trick and Sanjay agreed to shift the dates as he did not want to give up an electrifying pair Hrithik-Ash who has spread magic on screen in super-hits -Dhoom 2 and Jodha Akbar. On the other hand Hrithik is also excited to be work with the versatile director for the first time.

The shooting will start next month, but Hrithik will join the team only after he is free from Kites.

Hrithik to sing in Kites

So what's common between Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt and Amitabh Bachchan? Well true, they are all superstars! But there's one more thing common to all of them and its playback singing. All have lent their voice whenever the script has demanded it so.
Now Hrithik Roshan has joined the league too as he recently recorded a song for his upcoming film 'Kites'. It was director Anurag Basu's brainwave to get the actor to sing a song for the film. And Basu vouches for Hrithik's singing capabilities. So here's another feather on Hrithik's already ornate cap.

"When we asked Hrithik to sing for 'Kites', he agreed to it without any fuss. He got trained and has sung very professionally. When you'll hear the song, it'll sound as if some professional singer has sung it. He is quite good at it," says Anurag Basu. But what made Basu try the stunt? "In fact, the scene demanded an actor's voice for that particular song. It could not have a playback singer singing in the background," says Mr Basu.

Music for 'Kites' has been scored by Hrithik's uncle and music-director Rajesh Roshan. The film, which is scheduled to release early next year, has been shot in various foreign locations including Mexico and Las Vegas. The last leg of the shooting is to take place in Mumbai shortly.

Hrithik and Aishwarya Rai in Sanjay Leela Bansali's Next

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next untitled project may see Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai. Hrithik presence in the project is for sure but recently Sanjay approached Aishwarya Rai for the movie. The pair will be coming together for the third time after Dhoom-2 and Jodha Akbar. They have exhibited tremendous on screen chemistry so far.

Bhansali must be counting on this chemistry to work . The movie is based on a story penned by the director himself. Bhansali and Aishwarya Rai will be working together for the second time after Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. But it will be a first time for Hrithik Roshan.

Aishwarya Rai who is shooting in Kerala jungles for Mani Ratnam’s project is yet to sign the dotted line. But it is almost certain that she has accepted the offer.

Hrithik Roshan in Bansali's Next

It is debatable whether Saawariya has done no harm Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s spirits. The acclaimed director is working on his next film. The script is said to be love triangle and will most likely star Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.

Hrithik’s business manager says that this is the second project that Bhansali has offered Hrithik. He got this offer from Bhansali after he rejected the first one. is is assumed that Hrithik has liked the script and will make the final decision after he returns back from US where he is currently filming for Kites.

This film is a contemporary love story and will be a love triangle. If the project falls into place, this will be the first time Bhansali will direct Hrithik. However, before that the director has his hands full with Chenab Gandhi which stars Amitabh Bachchan, Harman Baweja and Vidya Balan

Barbara is Threat to Suzanne Khan’s Conjugal Life.

Mexican actress Barbara Mori sizzling hot chemistry between Hrithik Roshan and Barbara in Anurag Basu Kites is worth watching. The Roshans may not be talking about their upcoming movie Kites, but the chemistry between Hrithik and Barbara promises to burn the screen.

The Bollywood heartthrob, is having the time of his life, shooting for “Kites” in exotic locales like Las Vegas, New Mexico and Los Angeles. But daddy Rakesh Roshan, the producer and now also the director of the movie, is having sweaty palms because of his son’s raunchy antics. Hrithik, hitherto known to be a perfect gentleman and a wonderful husband is reportedly giving in to the allure of co-actress Barbara Mori.

The stunning shooting locations are heaving a great effect on Hrithik’s mind, and heart as well.Hrithik is enjoying the umpteen “roll in the hay” scenes in the film with Barbara so much, that he is carrying off some of it off screen.

It is believed that Papa Rakesh Roshan was extremely upset with Hrithik’s attitude. News of Hrithik’s closeness with the hot actress was making the rounds in Mumbai too. Rakesh Roshan was annoyed by the development.

Bobby and Anurag are friends, besides being a great team. Anurag appreciates Bobby’s work and gives him a free hand. But Roshan had his own ideas of how the movie should look. He did not agree with Bobby’s style and would interfere in camera angles and light shot etc. Initially Bobby kept quiet as Rakesh is a senior filmmaker an creative differences happen on every set. But as the days went by, Bobby felt his work as a cinematographer was increasingly getting undermined”.

Rakesh had apparently told Bobby to do the shot from another angle But Bobby wanted to try a different angle. Rakesh was furious as Bobby had disregarded his instructions, and made his displeasure clear in front of the entire unit. Bobby felt so humiliated about this dressing down that he stormed off the sets and took a flight straight back to Mumbai.

Barbara, the on screen mistress is proving to be a potential threat to Suzanne Khan’s serene conjugal life. Earlier, Hrithik Roshan was also rumoured to be smitten by Kareena Kapoor. Hope Suzanne learns some moves from Hrithik’s on screen wife Kangana Ranaut in “Kites”, or she will lose the string over her hot dashing husband!

Hrithik Says no to Sanjay

Not so long ago most actors would have killed to be a part of a Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie. But the mercurial director it seems is finding it tough to get the right actors for his next film, yet another love triangle after Saawariya.

Bhansali who is very particular about the actors he casts had his heart set on signing Hrithik Roshan for his new venture. The two had been in talks and sources close to the developments say that the director had even sent Hrithik a copy of the bound script.

"Bhansali and Hrithik have always had cordial relations, and Bhansali has been in talks with him for three-fours years for various projects, but Hrithik is very particular when it comes to matters professional.

After Saawariya, Bhansali and Hrithik have been in talks, Hrithik even went to the director’s house for meetings, and just when everything seemed set, he backed out," says the source.

Hrithik who is at present in Mexico with his father Rakesh Roshan, shooting for his home-production Kites being directed by Anurag Basu, informed Bhansali two days ago that he would be unable to do the film. The reasons for declining the film are not known.

Unfortunately for the director, the other star on his wishlist for the second hero's role too has had second thoughts. Bhansali, our source reveals, had been in touch with his Saawariya hero Ranbir for the second hero's role but nothing went beyond initial discussions.

Right now, Ranbir is busy with Yash Raj Films' Bachna Ae Haseeno, Rajkumar Santoshi's Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Prakash Jha's Rajniti. He has also given dates for Karan Johar's next film (untitled) which leaves him with little time for his mentor's movie.

Both Hrithik and Bhansali remained unavailable for comment, but there is speculation about the future of the project. Remember how Bhansali who had set his heart on casting Ash and Salman had canned Bajirao Mastani because he couldn't get them to act together again?

No More Dance from Hrithik

Think Hrithik Roshan and you think twinkle toes. It started with Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, where he burst into the scene to introduce a kind of fluid dancing that we hadn't seen in a long time, and never ended.

Audiences could never have enough of his dancing. But now they may have to do without the delights of Hrithik's dancing in some films to come. He is looking at scripts that will not require him to display his superb dancing skills.

The actor first got his knee surgery done at Bangkok soon after completing Jodhaa Akbar. But both the pain and the stiffness persisted.

A week ago, he went to Los Angeles to get a second surgery done. (It's another matter that most people thought he was in LA for the pre-production work of Anurag Basu’s Kites.)

Now, the surgery is over, the swelling is gone too, more or less. But it seems he will not be able to do his usual naacha gana with ease now, without harming the operated-on knee. And no, he has no dancing scenes in Kites.

He is reading plenty of other scripts too. But, besides looking at the meat of his role, his main criterion is, ‘No dancing, please’. Alas.

Hrithik is the new Serial Kisser !!!

If reports are to be believed, Hrithik Roshan could well be nicknamed Bollywood’s next serial kisser.

After the much-reported liplock between him and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Dhoom 2, Hrithik will supposedly pucker up for Anurag Basu’s Kites, which is being produced by Rakesh Roshan.

The kiss will enhance the chemistry between Hrithik and his co-star Barbara Mori, whose characters are attracted to each other but don’t speak the same language. But apparently the idea isn’t very appealing to Rakesh, who doesn’t want anything of the sort in his home production and has asked Anurag to be more subtle.

When sources spoke to Anurag, he laughed off the reports. “These are all rumours. Rakesh and I keep laughing about this. Every day we come to know about problems with a movie we haven’t yet started shooting for. First, there was talk about Deepika Padukone being cast in our movie, and now this. Let me tell you one thing: no director or producer will divulge details about a film, especially before shooting begins. We’re still writing parts of it and filming will start in July,” he says.

We guess Anurag’s given all those rumours a big kiss-off.

Does Hrithik & Abhishek have lot in Common?

Not all stars takes the glamour and glory of Bollywood for granted.

Some are passionate enough to learn about the finer aspects of filmmaking before facing the camera.

There is a hefty list of actors who previously worked as assistants or production-in-charge till stardom beckoned.

We start with Bollywood's new kid Harman, son of filmmaker Harry Baweja.

The handsome aspirant, often linked to co-star Priyanka Chopra and likened to Hrithik Roshan for his appearance, makes his big screen debut with the sci-fi caper, Love Story 2050.

Even before, however, he worked in the production team on his dad's productions like Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai and Karam.

Hrithik and Sachin to clash against SRK and Ganguly

So it begins, at Bangalore when Ganguly’s Knights take on Dravid’s Challengers- the IPL, the biggest carnival of Twenty-Twenty cricket with all the glamour that one can ask for begins in a day’s time.

For the first time since the days of Kerry Packer, cricket will be played seriously without national colors. Sachin will face Ishanth Sharma, we have not seen that, Sehwag will swing at Balaji, we have not thought about that and Ganguly will bat with Ponting, we never thought that was possible. And all this will happen when Shah Rukh, Hrithik, Vijay, Juhi and Nayanthara cheer from the stands, while billboards, television, Mallya and Ambani carefully monitor the numbers as each ball is bowled.

The IPL is not just about cricket, it’s an industry. Maybe that’s why each team was called a franchise and (how ever much it is denied) players were treated like valuable commodities during auctions. This is has not been seen even in the long-standing football leagues of the world. Of course, there’s a lot of money that goes around during the transfer periods and records are broken every year but what mattered most was always the player’s preference. In the IPL however it is the bosses who decided whom they wanted, only the ‘Icons’ got their way. The IPL is not selling cricket, it is selling well packed entertainment capsule in which cricket is the main ingredient.

Getting back to cricket. That’s a tough thing to do, especially with all the distractions there have been a lot of talks about which team is the most balanced and who has the edge and so on. But to put things in perspective, nothing can be predicted here because most of the big stars going head to head have never done so before, they have always been on the same side and have not tested their powers against each other. So, we do not know whether Gilchrist will be the same demolition machine when he has to ace Glenn Mc Grath or Shane Warne. All these guys have played together and one can be sure that they know things about each others’ games and about the chinks in the armor that others might not know about. Many things are going to be thrown open.

Ganguly or Sachin might know a thing or two about setting fields against a rampant Sehwag or how to deal with Kumble’s wrong uns. A lot of beans is going to be spilled and the results one might dare say will be evident when the first series after the IPL is played. Players suddenly will realize that the opposition knows far too many things about them than they ought to, than is safe, they will have to find new ways to survive in the ‘Open Era’. In short, cricket will be thrown open- Indian quickies might learn to perfect the elusive art of reverse swing from the Aussies, the South Africans will learn doosras from Murali and the art of sledging may evolve to a higher level of verbal unruliness or dissolve into gentlemanly conduct, both being distinct possibilities. Some countries have decided to keep away from this integration of international cricketers. They might have their own reasons for doing so but they are missing the bus on cricket’s next big global evolution. Its not about the money, its about the things that will be shared, revealed or even discovered. For all the money, injuries and the supposed ‘greed’ that the IPL is said to bring into cricket, there will also be something good.

From cricket to the other face of IPL- the entertainment. Well, you are not short of it and to repeat an oft-used statement ‘it happens only in India’. SRK sings and dances his way into the hearts of millions of fans for his Kolkata Knight Riders, Preity Zinta ropes in Daler Mahendi and does a Punjabi number for the Kings 11, Vijay and Nayanthara join hands even before ‘Singam’ for the Superkings of Chennai and Hrithik Roshan cheers with all his heart for the Mumbai Indians. That’s a deadly combination of stars doing the cheering, the most expensive cheer leaders on planet earth or are they as crazy about cricket as you or me, not impossible as they are also Indians. Maybe no one really had plans of promoting their teams with music videos, dance numbers etc…but once King Khan started doing things in his own way it was a headlong rush by the others trying to play catch up. SRK seemed to have things neatly panned out months in advance: he called Vishal Dadlani to do the music score, designed some ‘cool’ and ‘knightly’ helmets for every Knight Rider and grabbed ever bit of news space that was being given to the IPL. It had become more of the Knight Riders’ space with even controversy featuring when the unfortunate ban on Shoaib Akthar robbed the team of one of its most deadly weapons. That changed only a day back when Mumbai Indians dealt a powerful blow as they uncovered the Hrithik promotional number, enough headline material in the nick of time. Down south, the Chennai Superkings have been doing fine with their target audience; Vijay is as big a draw as you can get, especially when he is with Nayanthara. IPL- the business. Now, if this goes wrong then we have no IPL next year, forget that the contracts have been given out for 5 and 10 years. We never knew that big business houses had interests in cricket that were deep enough for them to put crores and crores of money into it, making millionaires out of teenagers overnight. Pepsi paid no less than 50 crores to the official IPL drink. Let’s say that more than 500 crores have been put into the IPL from various sources and all that has to be recovered between 18th April and June 1st. That’s the budget of 10 Sivaji movies in a month! Now we don’t know the complex methods in which revenues are worked out through media rights, royalties, television TRPs and whatnots but we can say for sure that the ticket sales at stadium counters is not going to be nearly enough to account for that amount. We can trust the high officials of the BCCI and Lalit Modi to have the mathematics worked out for a profit, else experienced businessmen like Ambani and Ness Wadia would not have ventured into it; but no one can deny the element of risk at work here. This is aptly summed up by what Shahrukh Khan had to say the other day. He was a bit shocked on the first day of ticket sales for the matches at the Eden Garden. Having barred no holds in promoting the event, announcing great plans and saying that he will personally hand out every 1000th ticket purchased, the turn out was least inspiring, even discouraging. Expecting full houses at the Eden Gardens is one thing and getting that done is another, you have to attract 1 lakh people to the stadium. SRK has confessed that things are not as he expected them to be, not the rosy picture that was painted out. But cricket gets exciting as the days go on and things for sure will pickup.

The Making of the Song :Azeem Shaan Shahenshah

One of the most reckoning part of Jodhaa Akbar is the song, Azeem Shaan Shahenshah, which has spirited choreography and grand visuals.

The song is a tribute paid to Akbar’s success in consolidating his hold on the empire. It is sung by Mohammad Aslam, who has sung for many A R Rahman tracks in Tamil and Hindi. Joining him is Bony Chakravarti.

This is unlike any other Rahman composition but the musical maestro admits that he has used a similar number and orchestration in a Tamil film.

"But the song in Jodhaa Akbar is far better," Rahman admits. "And it is used very well in an important part of the film."

The song sounds like it has voiced by a dozen voices and a raft of musical instruments.
"There was a lot of percussion drums and voices mainly and chorus here and there," Rahman explains.

"There wasn't a lot of orchestration. It is a drum-and-voice song. Therefore, we did not want to use violins or other instruments in it."
