Penelope Cruz cuts down her work

Oscar winning actress Penelope Cruz has announced that she wants to reduce the number of films she accepts. The star has adopted a strict work ethics while training to be a ballerina. Cruz carried that discipline into her acting career, refusing to take any time off for herself. But now she agrees to star in projects she feels are special and spare more time for her family, loved ones and for her own self.

Cruz said that the turning point came when she realized the years going by and the amount of work she had done. “Now I can work, but I am not on movie sets the whole year. I can say no until there is something I really need to do,” said Cruz.

Cruz’s admission comes amid reports that she is expecting a baby with her boyfriend Javier Bardem.

Spanish actress Penelope Cruz was left red-faced when she had to walk the red carpet of a glamorous event wearing a scarlet suit, after the actress misplaced her luggage on a flight to London.

Cruz had come to the British capital from Madrid just to attend the event at the city’s Somerset House with director, Pedro Almodovar. But when she arrived there, the actress was forced to wear a red suit that she had kept in her hand luggage, instead of the customary full-length gown.

She was, however, not fazed by it, and was more worried about the unpredictable English weather. Filmmaker Almodovar was sure a conspiracy was at work, and was convinced an avid fan was behind Cruz’s missing possessions.

Penelope Cruz gained 17 pounds for Nine

Singer Stacy Ann Ferguson and Actress Penelope Cruz had to gain 17 pounds before shooting of musical "Nine" began. The two had been asked to put on the weight which they merrily oblige to do.

“We were eating our brains out. We ordered everything fried and full of fat and salty,” said Fergie.

But after filming ended, Fergie discovered that she was not able to get rid of all the fat so easily, and her new curves prompted pregnancy rumours.

“If I don’t do sit-ups, my stomach sticks out,” she said.
