Sharmila Tagore mentor to newbie Nargis

For newbie Nargis Fakhri , it was a quick learning on the job while shooting for her third film Morning Walk. While shooting for the film, she had none other than veteran Sharmila Tagore as a mentor. Not only did the veteran actor insist on grooming her when it came to performing in front of the camera, she was also much more than just a helping hand for newbie's outfits.

Sharmilaji being a perfectionist, involved herself in every aspect of the film's production. There were some outfits that were designed for Nargis and Sharmilaji had some better ideas and she insisted on Nargis being dressed differently. Nargis didn't feel that Sharmila Tagore was being intrusive and was more than happy to go as per her vision.

To go with her character in Morning Walk, Sharmila Tagore went out of her way to source the most beautiful Baluchari & Daccai sarees from West Bengal.

Morning Walk, the maiden production venture of INOX Motion Pictures, is all set to hit the theatres on the 10th of July 2009. Directed by Arup Dutta, Morning Walk also stars another veteran actor Anupam Kher along with Rajit Kapoor, Divya Dutta and Shayan Munshi.

The 'Balika Vadhu' girl Avika Gor also makes her on screen debut with the film.

Sharmila Tagore Soha Ali Khan in an English film

It's always nice to see Bollywood's current generation of star kids share screen space with their real life parents on screen. The trend was started by the Deols in Apne and now it’s the turn of mother-daughter duo of Sharmila Tagore and Soha Ali Khan. The duo will be seen on the big screen together for the first time in an English film directed by Sangeeta Datta.

"Yes Mom and I are doing a film together. It's an English film by a British production company and directed by Sangeeta Datta. It's an absolutely lovely script and shooting starts in May in London," Soha confirmed.

The as yet untitled film is not your typical boy-meets-girl love story and is in fact a family drama revolving around a father and his three daughters. Besides Sharmila and Soha, the film also stars Girish Karnad, Om Puri and some British actors.

It may be recalled that Sharmila and her son Saif Ali Khan starred together in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Eklavya- The Royal Guard. Now it will be Sharmila along with her daughter Soha in this flick.
