Vidya Balan eyes Zaheer Khan

Vidya Balan doesn’t seem to be interested in the good looking men in Bollywood, but the actress has fallen for the sporty one. She has confessed that she has a soft corner for cricketer Zaheer Khan.

Speaking about the ace cricketer, Vidya said, “He is the hottest cricketer on the block, he may be quiet, but he seems to be a strong man from within.”

Vidya might be surrounded by the most gorgeous men in India, but she has a liking for sports stars. However, Zaheer already has his wedding on cards.

Guess Vidya should concentrate on other bachelors of the Indian team for now!!!

Vidya Balan in an all new Avtar

Vidya Balan seems to have taken the criticism that came her way after ‘Heyy Baby’ and ‘Kismet Konnection’, very seriously as Vidya has shed a super ten kilos and is apparently looking hot and sensuous.

Vidya was keeping a low profile of late after facing tremendous flak from the critics but the new look is sure to shock everyone. It seems, the actress has fulfilled her resolution, as she is looking much lighter than before.

Vidya never looked so slim and in such perfect shape.

Bips unsecured over John-Vidya onscreen chemistry in Chenab Gandhi

Bipasha Basu was not very comfortable when she came to know that her beau John Abraham is sharing stage with Vidya Balan and she made much effort to convince John to walk out of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Chenab Gandhi.

Bipasha has been trying her best to persuade John to step out of the project, but he doesn’t want to back out from this historical venture of Sanjay. The shooting for the film was all set to start in April, but it has now been postponed to December 2009 because of John’s uncertainty.

This delay could just cool bips down but it seems that cracks have started to come in the John-Bips relation as the the couple has again begun to have arguments over this issue

Earlier Harman Baweja was to act in Chenab Gandhi but later he was replaced by John.

Vidya Balan turns bolder in Ishkiyan

Bollywood actress-Vidya Balan all set to set the screen on fire for her hot act in Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Ishkiyan’. Vidya Balan will be seen doing some sensuous and intimate scenes with Arshad Warsi in the upcoming flick. Vidya Balan plays a grey character in ‘Ishkiyan’, which gives a very different look in the film.

Vidya indeed has quite a few hot love-making sequences in the film but the scenes have been aesthetically shot. Vishal Bharadwaj is too glad with the way the actress has performed her act in the film without any inhibitions.

Well, these days Vidya’s career seems to be taking a new high as after ‘Ishkiyan’, where she’s working with the legendary Naseeruddin Shah, she will also be seen working with Amitabh Bachchan in Balki’s ‘Paa’ and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Chenab Gandhi’.

Vidya Balan express her love for SRK

Vidya Balan made a shocking statement quite recently. She declared her love for Shah Rukh Khan and even went on to state that for him, she would be even willing to kill Gauri Khan. However, it is quite obvious that she said so in light humor as all this chit-chat happened on the 'Sajid Superstars' show.

On being asked about her crush, Vidya Balan didn't bat an eyelid as she only mentioned one name - Shah Rukh Khan! When warned by Sajid Khan that Gauri Khan could well be watching the show, she confessed that for getting the man of her dreams, she would even be willing to kill Gauri Khan!

She did mention her disappointment though for missing out on being even nominated for Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Though she gave her heart, body and soul for the role of a woman possessed and saw some critical and commercial acclaim for the film, she was left perplexed when award functions ignored her completely. In fact one of her scenes from the film even made it to the best scenes selected by Sajid Khan.

Her worst scene was an embarrassment for her though as a sequence from her tele-serial 'Hum Paanch', which was aired years back on TV. No wonder, she was red faced all through the duration as the scene played.

She also mentioned about how uncomfortable she was about the thought of enacting a love making scene with Sanjay Dutt for Parineeta. In fact a few weeks back, even Sanjay Dutt had mentioned that it was quite strange to shoot for the scene since director Pradeep Sarkar insisted in dozens of retakes before the scene was finally canned!

Sajid however didn't have a heart to listen to what Vidya had to say, especially when she opened her mouth to sing a song. The moment she started singing 'Pal Pal' from Lage Raho Munnabhai, Sajid went off to sleep!

While she was all fun in making her dancing entry into the show with the song 'Dholna' [Heyy Babyy], things turned a little serious as she was asked to reveal some bitter truths. In a round of controversial questions which followed, she was asked about her role in the Shahid-Kareena break-up. In addition, she was also grilled about her involvement with John Abraham. She did come up with smart answers for two of the biggest controversies of her personal life ever since she entered celluloid.

Vidya Balan and R Madhavan in Raj Kaushal's Next

All those who loved Vidya Balan and R Madhavan in the Airtel ads, here comes good news. The duo will be soon seen in a film romancing each other.

Thanks to the tremendous chemistry they have in the ads that they lapped up Raj Kaushal’s next film. The buzz is that Kaushal’s team is readying a mind-boggling script that is being written keeping both the actors in mind.

“Vidya and Maddy look so comfortable with each other. You can’t miss the chemistry they have. It’s so evident in the ads,” says our source. Though the actors have worked together in Guru , they weren’t playing the central characters. So, obviously they had their limitations. But Kaushal’s film will be `the’ film for them.

Vidya-Aziz caaught in a Catch22 Situation

Imagine the embarrassment relishing scrumptious hotdogs and realising that you do not have any money on you to pay them?

That too in a foreign country! This embarrassing but funny incident occurred when Vidya Balan and Aziz Mirza were shooting for the movie in Canada.

Hotdogs happen to be one of Vidya’s and Aziz’s favourite delicacies and the duo just decided to have them from one of the vendors on the street.

Vidya ordered her favourite flavour, while Aziz ordered his! The two even initiated a casual conversation with the vendor. The vendor seemed pretty impressed by what Vidya and Aziz had to say about each other.

The duo then reached out for their wallets to pay the vendor. But, hey! there was no moolah to pay the hotdog seller. Vidya did not know where to look, while Aziz smiled in embarrassment. Being a Bollywood fan, he said that it was on the house. Some kismat connection this is!

Vidya balan goes for Shock Treatment

Vidya Balan has finally let go of her inhibitions and turned into an atrocious prankster on the sets of Kismet Konnection . The otherwise shy and serious actress, Vidya has been actually meting out shock treatments to her crew mates with a tiny electric pen!

Apparently, Vidya found herself an electric pen and very wittily, she replaced it with an ordinary pen kept next to the director’s monitor. Every time an unsuspecting soul lifted the pen to jot down shoot details, they would get an instant shock which would make Vidya and those aware of the pranks, burst into fits of laughter.

Talking about it, a giggling Vidya revealed, “It was absolutely hilarious. Though it was meant to be a prank, I never thought it would go so far since soon people would double-check. But interestingly, all I would do is replace the outer cover of the pen and in the middle of the shooting mayhem, no one would realise it till they’d get the shock. Trust me, every single day, my pen found five victims!”

Ask her if co-star Shahid was any inspiration for turning into a prankster and pat comes the reply, “He is way ahead of me when it comes to pranks. Shahid was actually armed with a farting bag on the sets and his favourite target was our trainer Abbas. Everytime he was about to sit, Shahid would place the bag beneath him and it would go puchack! All of us would start staring at him and the poor guy would be so embarrassed, he wouldn’t know where to look.” And if that wasn’t enough, Vidya would make him a laughing stock by adding, “Of course the smell never reaches its source!”

Vidya does her bit on the World Environment Day

Vidya Balan has not been much in the news since her last release Halla Bol in January this year. The talented actress has been quite a regular on the endorsement front and is seen often on T.V. along with South star Madhavan in the Airtel commercials.

On the eve of World Environment Day, Vidya Balan was present at a tree plantation drive held by Lanxess India along with the 'Save The Children India' organization. They planted over 100 samplings in an initiative to increase the green cover and stimulate worldwide awareness of the environment. Indeed a noble gesture on the beautiful actresses' part.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Vidya Balan has recently signed on with Bling! Entertainment Solutions, a leading talent and celebrity management company in India founded by Atul Kasbekar. Bling! Entertainment Solutions shall now handle all the endorsement deals of the actor as well as protect her long term interests.

The promos of Vidya's next big release Kismat Konnection opposite Shahid Kapoor are already generating a lot of curiosity. Looks like Vidya indeed has a lot of reasons to flaunt that million dollar smile of hers.

Shahid finds a Solemate

The question doing the rounds of Bollywood is: are Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan a couple?

The film industry would like nothing better than a romance between them. But reports of the handsome Shahid and pretty Vidya being seen together were dismissed by him as, “We had just gone out for lunch. I go with other friends too.” Now, the two stars who are coming together in Aziz Mirza’s Kismet Konnection, talk to BT about their relationship.

“Vidya is my co-star and we are good friends. But this isn’t your Bollywood kind of good friend. I mean, she’s a nice girl, a fantastic co-star and one of the many friends I have,” said Shahid playing safe. “Incidentally, Sania Mirza is also a friend and we meet, but there’s no romance. I guess I’m an easy target because I’m single.”
The thumping success of Jab We Met has put Shahid back on his feet. “At 27, filmmakers like Vishal Bharadwaj, Yash Chopra, Ken Ghosh, and my dad Pankaj Kapoor are making films with me in the lead, I cannot ask for more,” said Shahid who is looking forward to acting with actresses his age like Deepika Padukone, Sonam, Priyanka Chopra and Katrina.

Vidya, who has also been asked about their relationship, is guarded. “I’m scared of saying anything,” she said, “We worked together for 60 days in Toronto and I’m fond of Shahid, but he’s just as a friend.” Reacting to comparisons between them and Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla, who were regulars in Mirza’s earlier films like Yes Boss and Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Vidya said, “I, too, would like to have an onscreen pairing with Shahid like Juhi had with Shah Rukh, and hopefully people will say the same thing about us a few years down the line.”

Kismet Konnection, not surprisingly, is about love and finding one’s soul mate. But Shahid said he finds a soul mate even in his dog Keizo. “Soul mates need not be only about lovers. I feel a strong connection with my dog. He is my soul mate. He knows what saddens me and what makes me smile. He doesn’t disturb me when I need my space, but he is there. He even puts me to sleep,” said the lover boy giving new meaning to man’s best friend.

I think Maddy and I were destined to special things in limited space,"- Vidya Balan.

The secret behind the chemistry between Vidya Balan and Madhavan in the Airtel ads is out.

It is Madhavan's two-year-old son Vedant. The child bonded so beautifully with Vidya on the sets of Guru that she became a part of Madhavan and his wife Sarita's inner circle.

In fact the cell phone company has now decided to put out a series of ads featuring Madhavan and Vidya as a couple connecting emotionally on the phone.

Madhavan has been running in and out of Mumbai to complete these ads. "Initially I was only the brand ambassador for Airtel's southern market. But now they've signed me on for the whole country," Madhavan said.

"We've shot a series of ads with Vidya and me. For the last one week I've been running in and out Mumbai and Chennai. During the daytime I'm in Chennai shooting for a Tamil film. Then I take a night flight to Mumbai to dub for the ads," the star said.

Curiously, Maddy, as Madhavan is fondly known, and Vidya have hardly shot together for these ads about love and togetherness.

"We've just done one shot together. The rest has been shot with the two of us separately. It's strange people have noticed so much chemistry between us when we aren't even together in the ad.

“My wife Sarita loves the ad. She thinks Vidya is better than me in the ad. But then she's my harshest critic. All three of us Sarita, Vedant and I adore Vidya."

Vidya has done ads prior to her acting career. This is her first ad after starring in films. She thoroughly enjoyed the experience. "Years ago I was supposed to do a Tamil film with Maddy. Then we were also supposed to do a Deepa Mehta film together. I think Maddy and I were destined to special things in limited space," says Vidya.

"Both of us had cameos in Mani Ratnam's Guru. People still talk about our romantic scene in the rain (including a kiss). And now the Airtel ads.

It's unbelievable how much chemistry people have seen between us in those few seconds. I always say it's the moments that make a romance."

Kismet Connection - A Pyar Bhari Twisted Kahani

Actor Vidya Balan has been in the news for several wrong reasons, but she is going to make all the wrong right it seems. "As long as my work isn't ridiculed," says the actor, reacting to comments made on her bad sense of fashion.

Anyway, if what unit members of Kismet Connection say about hers and Shahid Kapoor's chemistry is to be believed, we may just be writing about B-wood's next big hit jodi . This good on-screen chemistry has translated into an off-screen alleged link-up. And while Vidya insists that love is still to happen to her – someone like George Clooney may just make it happen – news of Shahid's non-stop gupshup on the phone with Sania Mirza is catching many eye-balls.

So while most swore that love bloomed between Shahid and Vidya in Toranto, their tales in Mumbai nagariya aren't quite the romantic sorts. How boring! But with Kismet Connection , round the corner another pyar bhari kahani may just be on its way. Let's see if such kind of connection is really in their kismet !

Vidya Balanto do ads for Airtel

Keeping the tradition of bringing exclusive news intact, Bollywood Hungama does yet another cracker of a news breaker. Vidya Balan has been signed as the Brand Ambassador for Airtel.

This Bollywood beauty is on a signing spree, not just on screen, but off screen as well. The news of her being the Brand Ambassador for Airtel comes just days after her being signed as the Brand Ambassador for Toshiba. She has already shot for the commercial with yet another southern heartthrob Madhavan, with Vinil Mathew of FootCandle Productions, calling the shots.

Talking about Vidya Balan, R. Chandrasekhar - Head of Brand And Media, Bharti Airtel, said, “Spontaneity and vibrancy are key attributes of Airtel. Vidya is a hugely talented actress who brings a lot of freshness and naturalness to any role. We are sure that these traits of Vidya will have a positive rub off on the brand as well.”

With Vidya's career soaring up and up in the 'Air', it's really easy to 'Tel' that who is the next top most contender to the Queen Bee slot! What say Miss Balan!

Vidya Balan Says"My companion can be from any walk of life"

With two bumper hits in her kitty Vidya Balan's career is going great guns. Lots of commercial successes. Plenty to smile about. "I was very happy about all my five releases in 2007, though some of them didn't do well. From the very start when Dada (Pradeep Sarkar) showed so much faith in me by giving me Parineeta, the industry has made a substantial space for me. By the grace of God, there're lots of interesting roles happening. I'm in the process of signing some more. Since I came to cinema my criteria for signing a role remains unchanged. I've never been in a hurry to get anywhere. Things are happening at a pace I'm enjoying. And I'm not insecure. Jo hoga achcha hi hoga."

She ponders for a few seconds as kids approach her for her autograph at the airport. Then she says, “I don't regret anything. I'm a hopeless optimist. I feel what I've to go through will happen regardless of how much I fight it."

The industry is looking at Akshay Kumar and Vidya as a hit jodi after Heyy Babyy and Bhool Bhulaiyaa. "I'd love for us to be seen that way. Even Katrina-Akshay look great together. I'd love to work with Akshay again. Yes, we've offers together. He's a great co-star. The icing on the cake is our films together have worked."

In Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Vidya invested demoniacal energy. "Yes, it was a frightening experience. My director Priyadarshan handled the last 20 minutes of the story when I get into a supernatural rage of dance, very intelligently. I love Priyan. He's a man of few words. We even converse in Malayalam."

This year Vidya was supposed to do another film with Priyan. "But there's a problem with the leading man. I'd love to work with Priyan again. I've been fortunate in the fact that directors have signed me more than once."

So is she doing her Heyy Babyy director Sajid Khan's film? "There's been no formal talk on this. Sajid hasn't offered me the role. I've been reading reports that I'm doing the film. Right now, he's writing his next film…I'm lucky to be a part of the movie industry when leading ladies are no longer decorative. It's providential that I started with Parineeta."

She gets sentimental about Pradeep Sarkar. "Staying away from his second film Laaga Chunari Mein Daag was unbearable for me. I want to be part of his next film for sure.

Any hopes for 2008? "Add some spice to my own life and not wait for others to do it for me. I would like love to happen. But I'm not holding my breath for it. Yes, there're times when I get lonely. But most of the time I'm quite happy being with my family and myself."

Unlike Preity Zinta, Vidya has made no pledge to stay away from actors in her personal life. "Some people are doctors, others are actors. My companion can be from any walk of life. If he's an actor we can both carry our own mirrors to the sets and be narcissistic individually .And we can have mirrors all over the house. Instead of looking into each other's eyes, we can look into the mirrors," Vidya jokes and flies off to another destination.
