Hats Off-Amisha

After a long hiatus, Amisha Patel’s career is on the upswing again with Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic.
And more than anything, she’s excited about the film because she is going for a complete makeover in this film. And besides that, she’s also excited about the fact she’s doing a film with her favourite actor, Govinda.

The duo are working with each other for the first time. And more than her oomph, we hear people on the set are talking about her professionalism.

For a 7 am morning shoot, Amisha makes it a point to be on the sets 15 minutes before time with her make up on. And more importantly there are no tantrums even if she is made to wait for long. Now the all important question is... Is Chi Chi back to his old late Latif days?

Saif-Rani Unscreen Chemistry Doesnot Work So well Off-Screen

Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee make quite a pair in Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic. And they would the world to believe that as co-stars they are very close to each other.

The truth, like they say, is far ‘bitter’ than fiction.

“Saif and Rani can’t get along at all. They never have,” whispers a source. “In fact Rani has told some of her closest friends that Saif and she couldn’t see eye to eye during the making of Hum Tum.

What she doesn’t say aloud is that they couldn’t see eye to eye all through their second and third films Tara Rum Pum and Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, too.”

Continues the source, “Though they did try to iron out their differences and though they did get along better during their second and third films, there was still a lot of friction between them, both on personal and professional levels.

You see, they aren’t just very different as individuals, they are very different in their approach to a scene. These differences came to the surface in all their dramatic scenes together.”

So why did they decide to come together in spite of their terrible differences during Hum Tum? “It’s Yashraj who convinced them,” says the source.

“They’ve a limited number of A-listers on their roster. And in how many permutations can they put Abhishek, Rani, Preity and Shah Rukh? Saif and Rani provide an interesting study in contrast.”

According to our sources, during Tara Rum Pum in the US, the two argued heatedly in full view of the unit. The stress level during their third film together was greatly reduced. But there was still enough friction between the two.

Adds the source, “During the long outdoor schedule of the film in Bangkok Rani would try very hard to be part of Saif and Kareena’s inner circle.

But Rani was the odd one out because Kareena never liked her in the first place. In fact Rani is now in a serious co-star crisis. She has outgrown Govinda. Things are just not the same between her and Abhishek after the wedding snub. Shah Rukh has moved on to fresher pairings.

As for Saif, it’s unlikely the two will come together again even if their new film creates thoda magic at the box office.”

Rani To Make A Comeback After a Ligament Ingury

The Bhaidas Hall in Vile Parle is an unlikely place for Rani Mukerji to announce her comeback to Bollywood.

But that is where the gorgeous actress is, surrounded by kids who clutch her long flowing skirt while she sings and dances with them on the songs of Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic , in which she is playing an angel. The kids are excited and keep screaming, “Rani didi, Rani didi.” Didi is fun and games, and one hour later, she turns apologetically and says, “Now I’m all yours, ask me whatever you want.”

Exhausted, nursing a torn ligament, she manages a 1,000-watt smile nevertheless. “Kunal Kohli’s Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic with Saif Ali Khan will be my first release of the year. I play a character straight out of fantasy. It’s tough playing an angel as I have to keep flying. I’m always in mid-air, pulled up by a harness, I feel like Hrithik in Krrish,” she laughs.

Rani has been selective, of late. “I would love to do four-five films a year, but I’m not happy with the scripts offered to me,” admits the actress who is also working on Yashraj’s next film with Shahid Kapoor. But, whether she does films or not, Rani says that her fans continue to love her. “They loved me then, when I did films like Ghulam and Bichoo, and they love me now when I’m playing an angel.” Is she deliberately being reclusive? “No, I’m not,” she protests. “It’s just that the dos that I attend are not attended by the media. I’m more of a family person. After a day’s work, I prefer to go back to home to my niece Myeisha.”

What’s her equation with Saif in this film? Rumours are that the two don’t get along well. “Earlier we didn’t get along that famously. We are not the best of friends. But, yes, after we did Hum Tum, we got to know each other and now when this film was offered to us, we were more than happy to act opposite each other. We have grown together as actors. We admire each other,” she reveals. Rani’s done films with most of the big actors from the Big B to Kamal Hassan and all the reigning Khans of Bollywood. But she’s not worked Akshay Kumar. “Akshay and I want to do a film together but it’s strange that we don’t like the ones offered to us.
