The Khiladi is now the Ambassador of Levi

After the unprecedented success of the Anees Bazmee directed Singh Is Kinng, Akshay Kumar is on top of the world. The film has not just upped his Bollywood status, but has also made him the advertiser's darling.
After endorsing brands like Thumbs Up and Grasim, Akshay has now been roped in as the Brand Ambassador for the American Jeans and casual wear manufacturer, Levi Strauss, for launching its brand Levi's 501 in India. According to reliable sources, Akshay has been paid a whopping sum for the endorsement of the jeans brand, whose ads have been shot in some of the most stunning locations of Los Angeles. These ads are expected to go on air from the last week of this month.

Katrina-"The Most Sucessful heroine of the Decade" makes it 9 in a row.

No other heroine this decade has got the kind of success that Katrina Kaif has registered. And all of this has happened even as the pretty girl hasn't been required to indulge into any kind of histrionics and has mainly made her way to the top with her song and dance routine while looking fabulous on camera.

Crowds have thronged theaters to witness Akshay romance Katrina once again on celluloid and haven't gone home disappointed. And all of this even as the girl was severely criticized with her Bollywood debut outing Boom which had 'boomed' badly.

However, ever since then, she has seen good success coming her way with each of the 9 films that she has been a part of. While Ramu got her back on the silver screen with Sarkar, Salman Khan's Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya gave her another good hit to savior open. Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye with Akshay may have been a coverage fare but whatever that followed, be it Namastey London, Apne, Partner, Welcome and most recently Race, have only elevated her box office standing with every passing month.

Now Singh Is Kinng has turned out to be yet another example of Katrina Kaif ensuring that she continues to have her huge winning streak continue film after film, year after year. This Akshay Kumar, Anees Bazmee and Vipul Shah film has embarked on a huge box office opening and a share of credit certainly goes to Katrina who has ensured that her Barbie Doll appearance (in 'Jee Karda') is well complimented by the sensual woman persona (in 'Teri Ore') that she has donned for Singh Is Kinng.

Singh Is Kinng - The Script

This year's eagarly-awaited romantic comedy, Singh is Kinng, revolves around a gang of crooks transformed by a good man and his selfless love for a pretty girl.
Lucky (Sonu Sood) is the 'king' of the Australian underworld. But far away, in his hometown in Punjab, there is someone even more notorious than him -- Happy Singh (Akshay Kumar). The village decides to send him on a long trip, and bring Lucky back to Punjab, as his despicable deeds are maligning their image in Australia.

The village bumpkin embarks on his journey, where he goes through a series of adventures, meets Lucky, and even manages to find time for love when he meets Sonia (Katrina Kaif).

Singh Is Kinng is directed by Anees Bazmee of No Entry and Welcome fame.

Incidentally, the film found its title from the back of a truck!
Apparently, Akshay Kumar was driving through Jaipur when he spotted a truck with the words, Singh is King, printed at the back.

However, the film is not about any specific community.

One of the highlights of the film is Snoop Dogg's number, which is part of the film's soundtrack.
The video will be shot in Los Angeles.

The title track of the film is rendered by Bombay Vikings' Neeraj Shridhar, and composed by Pritam.

Katrina is apparently charmed by Egypt, where she shot a song with Akshay.
"It's among the most beautiful countries I have visited -- the pyramids, the temples and the landscape are exotic. I even enjoyed the barbecue dinner on a boat on the Nile. We shot in a number of places and I've come back with fond memories of my trip," she says.

The song, Jee Karda, was shot at 4 am everyday to capture the light.

The film is also shot in Punjab and Australia.

After her recent flops like Ek Chalis Ki Last Local and Rama Rama Kya Hai Yeh Drama, Neha Dhupia hopes to squeeze in a hit with Singh is Kinng.
She plays Julie in the film, a bold and beautiful girl in a gang of goons, headed by Sonu Sood's Lucky.

Singh Is Kinng will release on August 8.

Kat's ill Health spoils her Plans for Delhi

Katrina Kaif was supposed to be in the capital before she went to attend an awards ceremony in Bangkok – the same one John was to attend and didn’t.

Expected at an event, Kat had to cancel her plans at the eleventh hour due to ill health. On phone from Bangkok, Kat explained, “I haven’t been keeping well for many days. I had to be in Delhi but had to cancel that plan because of the same. I have been on heavy medication.” And with Kat’s packed diary, the pretty actress needs to take care of her health.

“I just got back from Egypt. We were shooting Siingh Is King there. Back from there, I got busy with rehearsals for my performance at the awards ceremony in Bangkok. I’ve been keeping really busy!” she said. Take care, Kat!

The Hottest Duo come together again in Singh is King

Akshay 'Khiladi' Kumar's last release Tashan may have failed to continue his dream run at the B.O. However the superstar has put the failure of Tashan behind him and is looking forward to his other releases this year. One of his most awaited films includes the Anees Bazmee directed action-comedy, Singh is Kinng where he is paired opposite the gorgeous Katrina Kaif.

Akshay & Katrina were recently seen shooting a song in the picturesque locales of Egypt. Kumar is seen dressed in a typical Sardar get up with pagdi et al while Katrina is at her glowing best in a pink dress.

The duo was joined by some local dancers as they shot at some exotic locales in Cairo. What's more the Bollywood stars even seemed to have some fans in Egypt whom they happily obliged with autographs and pictures. The Akki- Kat duo delivered two big hits last year with Welcome and Namastey London. Will they be able to recreate the magic this time around? One will have to wait and watch

Singh Is Kinng releases on 08.08.08

Vipul Shah's forthcoming Singh Is Kinng appears to be inextricably linked with the number 8.

The keenly anticipated music of the film is due to release in the week of 8th June while the film will release worldwide on 8th August.

Remarks Vipul, "8 is lucky for me. I believe in it. 8th June is also my birthday, which is when the music is releasing. The film will release on 08.08.08., which is a fantastic date. These special dates do not come often".

The title track goes on television later next week. Singh Is Kinng is an Indian Films Studio 18 release worldwide.
