Feroz Khan dies of Cancer


The versatile style icon of the 70’s & 80’s- Feroz Khan breathed his last breath late Sunday night at his Bangalore residence. The veteran actor was battling cancer for over a year and had been in critical state for quite sometime now. He was 70 years.

Known as a flamboyant ladies man, his first big hit was the 1965 film “Onche Log” followed by several others like Tasveer, Qurbani, Yalgaar, Janbaaz, Janasheen, Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena and most recently Welcome. He also appeared in an English-language film “Tarzan Goes to India” in 1962 opposite Simi Garewal.

The actor was born in Bangalore on Sep 25, 1939. The yesteryear’s sensation is survived by his two children actor Fardeen Khan and daughter Laila. His family members were of the opinion that his death did not come unexpected as his health had been falling steeply.

As recognition to his contribution to Indian cinema, Feroz was conferred with several awards including the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000 and the Zee Cine Awards Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008
