Aishwarya Rai has flu symptoms

Actress Aishwarya Rai is down with chest infection and flu-like symptoms and her father-in-law- Amitabh Bachchan seems to be very concerned.

"Aishwarya has taken ill and is down with chest infection and flu like symptoms. She had a high fever yesterday, but is settling down today," he posted on his blog.

"It’s worrying to be so far away from children and not be there to look after them. Yes, they are mature and married and responsible, but children will always remain children," he added.

The 66-year-old veteran is currently in Singapore to look after his old friend and Samajwadi Party chief Amar Singh, who underwent medical treatment there.

“Whoever is on top is the dream girl. I feel it is Aishwarya Rai,” said Hema on being asked who deserves to be called the ‘Dream girl’ nowadays. Hema was in this suburb of the national capital Monday to felicitate winners of supermarket Big Bazaar’s ‘Meet the Dreamgirl’ contest.

Snubbing the whole idea of having a size zero figure, Hema said: “There’s no need for a size zero figure. You must have a flat stomach and a nice and beautiful face and you can be an actress.” said Hema.

Lately Aishwarya Rai has loosing out on lots of fronts. Firstly, a fairly new actress like Sonam Kapoor was proving to be a competition for Mrs Bachchan, and now the latest news is that ‘Slumdog’ sizzler Freida Pinto is Ash’s competitor.

A big brand that has Ash as its international brand ambassador and Sonam as the Indian brand face is now signing Freida Pinto as one of their international models. Since Freida will also be representing the same brand hence she shall be walking the red carpet at all major international film festivals next year, giving Aishwarya company.

Freida, who has bagged films with Hollywood biggies, is also expected to be on the jury of some of the biggest film festivals in 2010.

Preity Zinta was soon to be part of the television world with a reality show- ‘India's Got Talent’ which is the Indian adaptation of popular show ‘America`s Got Talent’, but it seems that her plans have been disturbed by Aishwarya Rai.

Preity is no longer part of the show .Preity was earlier in negotiations with the makers of the talent hunt show, but it was the delay of IPL which has cost Preity the show. She has to suffer a loss of an amount almost Rs 5 crore which she would have received for hosting the show.

The actress has informed the channel about her inability to do the show and after Preity’s exit, the next name which has popped up is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had convinced her husband Abhishek Bachchan to play the lead opposite her in Kandokondein which is director Rajeev Menon’s upcoming film. She was very impressed with Menon’s script. Abhinay Deo, who is directing Aamir Khan produced Delhi Belly, approached the Bachchan couple for his next film. Since Deo is a name to look out for, Abhishek and Aishwarya instantly gave him their nod of approval. Their dates, which were initially given to Menon were shifted to Deo’s film. Menon is still reeling under what has happened as his entire project is now caught in a rut.
