Urdu Press Club of India has honoured star actor Ajay Devgan and historian author Amraesh Misra with its prestious JASARAT AWARD givem every five years to persons for doing courageous work in their own fields.
Last award was given to journalist Rajdeep Sardesai for covering Gujrat riots in 2003. He award this year was given on May 18th at a glittering function held at Kanpur to celebrate the 150th year of 1857, the first War of independence.
Ajay Devgan was choosen for doing social relevant films like Zakhm, Bhagat Singh, Gangajal, Apaharan and also selecting a sensitive subject like Alzheimer for his debut direction in U Me Aur Hum whereas Mr. Amaresh Misra was given the Award for his historic 2000 pages book, War of Civilisation India 1857 A D, which was released recently by the Vice President of India in New Delhi.
